Gujarat Agro Industries Corporation Ltd.(GAIC) was set up in the year 1969, under the Companies Act-1956, with the objective of promoting agricultural activities and development of agro based industries in the State of Gujarat.
GAIC acts as a facilitator, catalyst and Nodal agency for Government of Gujarat, Government of India, Directorate of Agriculture, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Gujarat Electricity Board, etc. Some of the main objectives of GAIC encompass enhancing agriculture environment by providing improved farming techniques, job opportunities for farming graduates & technicians, better marketing and export strategies, etc. |

| GAIC commenced its operations immediately on its incorporation and achieved turnover of Rs. 30.00 Lacs in the year 1969-70, which subsequently crossed Rs.20,000.00 Lacs mark and went up over Rs. 21,000.00 Lacs. A two-pronged strategy was adopted by GAIC at that time: First to provide much needed farm machineries, equipments and other agricultural inputs. Secondly to set up agricultural processing and storage units - to fill the gap between production and demand that existed at that time. Overall it consists of fruits & vegetables processing units, cold storages, oil extraction and refinery units, pesticides formulation units and so on. It had also supported setting up of high tech units in joint sector. |

Gujarat Agro Industries Corporation (GAIC), is all about empowering the farmers, through promoting agricultural activities at the ground level and fostering the development of agro industries in the state. Set up in 1696 under the Companies Act, 1956, GAIC acts as a facilitator and nodal agency for implementation of various scheme of Government of Gujarat and Government of India
The present-day globalized agricultural environment necessitates a holistic approach to farming and all related activities. Moreover, strengthening of the forward and backward linkages between agriculture and industry has also become a prerequisite. This is where GAIC steps in.
It plays an important role in increasing competitiveness by encouraging farmers to adopt an integrated approach to agriculture and work towards better returns from the existing set-up. |

Presently acting as a facilitator in Agro Industrial Development of the State on behest and behalf of the Gujarat State Government, it is continuing essential activities benefiting the farmers.
GAIC is also acting as a catalyst for promoting agro industrial development in Gujarat, by identifying crucial avenues, cutting edge technologies and setting up Agriculture infrastructures projects. It provides an all-round package of services, in a manner that has remained unmatched, which has put itself among the forefront of major Agro Industries Development Corporations in the country. Giving support by way of providing inputs to farmers and finding processors/exporters for profitable markets for their product have always been GAIC’s objectives.
GAIC provides employment opportunities to un-employed technicians / agricultural graduates of farming community .
GAIC has a strong Rural Marketing network for distribution of Pesticides, Fertilizers and implements etc. |
