| Towards this end, GAIC implements various schemes of the Central and State Government designed for the overall development of the agro-industrial sector which has considerable scope for growth in the state in view of various beneficial factors. |

| Agro Industrial Policy: |
| The Government of Gujarat has declared a separate comprehensive Agro Industries Policy to accelerate the setting up of agro based industries. Gujarat is one of the pioneering states in the country to initiate this kind of policy, encompassing all aspects required to set up a conducive environment for investors. Under this policy, apart from back-ended interest subsidy to agro industries and agricultural infrastructure, assistance is also provided for quality certification, patent registration preparing project reports, increasing exports and optimizing R&D. Again, it is GAIC which functions as the nodal agency for the implementation of this policy. |

| State Nodal Agency for Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MOFPI), Gol: |
| The MOFPI has declared numerous schemes to provide financial assistance to food processing projects, including Quality Assurance, HRD inputs etc. As the state nodal agency for Gujarat State, GAIC securitizes and recommends the application of eligible entrepreneurs to the MOFPI,as per the guidelines of MOFPI. |

| Implementing Agricultural Export Zones (AEZs): |
| Under the scheme of Agricultural and Processed Food Export Development Authority (APEDA), which is in accordance with the nations import-export policy, the state government has earmarked Agricultural Export Zone for mangoes and vegetables (Ahmedabad to Valsad) value-added onions (Saurashtra)and Sesame Seeds(Saurashtra). GAIC is the nodal agency for implantation of the project. |

| An Air Cargo Complex is under implementation at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, Ahmedabad for import and export of perishables. This project is being implemented by GAIC. |

| Gujarat is one of the leading producer of Banana in India. GAIC is implementing Banana Pack House Project to develope exports of Banana from Gujarat. |

| Integrated Fruits and Vegetable Pack house at Ahmedabad: |
| Gujarat is emerging as hub of exports of Fruits and Vegetables. GAIC as the Nodel Agency of the State is implementing a project for of Pack house for fruits and Vegetables at Ahmedabad along with four collections Centres in clusters of fruits and Vegetables in Gujarat. |
