For the development of Food Processing Industries and to minimize the wastage of fruits & vegetables in the country, Ministry of Food Processing Industries Government of India (GOI) has declared numerous schemes for financial assistance. Gujarat is one of the major state producing fruits and vegetables. Ministry of Food Processing Industries has appointed GAIC as its Nodal Agency for Gujarat State. Applications received for assistance under the various schemes of MFPI, are scrutinized by GAIC and recommended to MFPI for financial assistance to the eligible entrepreneur.

| Venture Capital assistance - Under the venture capital assistance scheme of Small Farmers Agri Business Consortium (SFAC) there is provision of providing financial assistance in the form of equity to qualifying agri business project on the recommendation of the bank financing the project. The financial assistance will be in the form of equity capital provided by small Farmers Agri Business Consortium (SFAC) which will be repayable in installment at a interest (same as on Term Loan) , after term loan has been repaid.
